Advanced Glass Fusing Workshop on the 19th May 2012

Glass designer & maker Paul Floyd will lead afternoon sessions on glass fusing. The advanced workshop will allow you to explore the techniques of fused glass as a creative medium.  Within the workshop you will build on your skills with cutting glass to a pattern and working with coloured sheet glass, frits and powders. You will create an original piece of glasswork and can make either a panel or a medium sized round/square bowl 20cm diameter.  Only 4 people per workshop for maximum individual attention.

  • Date: Saturday 19th May 2012
  • Time: 1:30pm till 5:00pm
  • Costs: £45 (includes all materials and fusing)

The Ruskin Glass Centre will host their seasonal Spring Craft fair on Saturday 10th March  from 10am. As well as the various shops, studios and workshops in the centre, there will be invited designer & makers from across the region.  Many of the artists and craftspeople will be demonstrating,  including hot glass blowing throughout the day.

Artist in Residence

Ceramic Soapdishes

Transparent Glass Studio hosts ‘Artist in Residence’ Monika Mihalyfi.  Monika creates ceramics and pottery in the studio at the Ruskin Glass Centre in Stourbridge.  During her residency Monika has been assisting and collaborating on studio projects, as well as creating her own body of work.  See more of Monikas work at monikamiceramics and the Bevere Gallery.
