Intermediate Glass Fusing Workshop – 28/04/2018

Glass Fusing Workshop on the 28th April 2018

Glass designer & maker Paul Floyd will lead afternoon sessions on glass fusing. The Intermediate/Advanced workshop will allow you to explore the techniques of fused glass as a creative medium.  Within the workshop you will build on your skills with cutting glass to a pattern and working with coloured sheet glass, frits and powders.

You will create an original piece of glasswork and can make either a panel or a medium-sized round/square bowl 20cm diameter.  Only 4 people per workshop for maximum individual attention.

  • Date: Saturday 28th April 2018
  • Time: 1:30pm till 5:30pm
  • Costs: £45 (includes all materials and fusing)

Beginners Fused Glass Workshop on the 21st April 2018

Glass Course – 8 Weeks – Start: 17/04/2018

Glass Course: Day Class

Glass designer & maker Paul Floyd will lead open classes in glass making.  The course has been set-up to enable intermediate and advanced students to work on either a stained glass panel or a series of fused glass projects of their own design.  Students should have completed either a beginners stained glass workshop or a beginners fused glass workskop previously and would like to build on their previous skills, knowledge and creativity.  Paul Floyd will offer guidance with your projects in a friendly and supportive workshop.

This is a flexible course and if 8 weeks is too long for your project, then a minimum block of 4 weeks can also be booked.  All hand tools are provided for the course.

Materials & Kiln-Firing Costs are extra and can be discussed prior to start of course.  A Typical example of materials & kiln-firing costs: Stained Glass Panel – 35cm x 35cm = £25 and Fused Glass Panel – 30cm x 30cm = £25.  The kiln can also be hired by arrangement for additional firings and extra materials bought as and when needed.

Only 4 people per workshop for maximum individual attention.

Participant Information:

Aprons will be provided, please wear older clothes and no open-toe shoes.  If this course involves working with lead, unfortunately we recommend that pregnant & nursing mothers do not attend.
