Beginners Fused Glass Workshop – 05/12/2026

Beginners Fused Glass Workshop on the 5th December 2026.

Glass designer & maker Paul Floyd will lead sessions on glass fusing. Teaching the basics of fusing, cutting glass to a pattern and working with coloured sheet glass, frits, pebbles and stringers. We have a selection of patterns available for you to choose from and have a large range of colours for inspiration and design. You will create an original piece of glasswork and make your own fused glass light-catcher.

Your glasswork will be fused and available for collection one week later.  Postage can be arranged for your glasswork for an extra charge to cover P&P.  Only 4 people per workshop for maximum individual attention.

Christmas Craft Fayre 28th & 29th November 2026

Our Christmas Craft Fayre Weekend on the 28th & 29th November 2026 at the Glasshouse, Ruskin Glass Centre.

As well as the onsite designer maker studios and shops, there will be the ‘Makers Market’ Craft stalls delivered in partnership with Midlands Makers selling a range of gifts.

The ‘Makers Market’ & Open Studios are a great opportunity to buy and commission local handmade crafts.

Children Activities & Live Performances across the Festive Weekend.

Onsite Cafe selling delicious Organic meals, refreshments and snacks.

Open 10am till 4pm with free entry over the weekend.

Glass Fusing Workshop (Intermediate Level) – 14/11/2026

Glass Fusing Workshop (Intermediate to Advanced) on the 14th November 2026

Glass designer & maker Paul Floyd will lead a morning session on glass fusing. The intermediate/advanced workshops will allow you to explore the techniques of fused glass as a creative medium. Within the workshop you will build on your skills with cutting glass to a pattern and working with coloured sheet glass, frits, pebbles and stringers.

We have a selection of designs available for you to choose, but we also encourage you to bring your own design/pattern or inspiration to these more advanced classes.

You will create an original piece of glasswork.  Depending on your level of experience, you can choose to make either a 15cm square or 20cm square panel, which can be kiln-formed into a square platter bowl.  Or a 15 x 26cm landscape panel that can be formed into a freestanding fused glass artwork.
