Beginners Fused Glass Workshop – 07/09/2024

Beginners Fused Glass Workshop on the 7th September 2024.

Glass designer & maker Paul Floyd will lead sessions on glass fusing. Teaching the basics of fusing, cutting glass to a pattern and working with coloured sheet glass, frits and powders. We have a selection of patterns available for you to choose from and have a large range of colours for inspiration and design. You will create an original piece of glasswork and make your own fused glass light-catcher. Only 4 people per workshop for maximum individual attention.

International Festival of Glass 2024: Celebrating Glass Art in the UK

The International Festival of Glass takes place every two years in Stourbridge, and is the only festival that celebrates glass in the UK.

The creative programme of activities combines the whole spectrum of glassmaking with other artforms to push boundaries and develop new opportunities, ideas and collaborations for makers, artists and performers. You can see high-quality exhibitions, international masterclasses, artist demonstrations and presentations, with over 500 artists represented at each festival.

There are plenty of workshops and hands-on activities to try yourself, plus lively entertainment and evening events.The flagship exhibition British Glass Biennale is now established as the largest and most important selling show of contemporary glass in the UK.

International Festival of Glass 23rd till 26th August 2024

Celebrate the Festival’s 20th year with us in August 2024. We will be sharing wonderful memories and creating special new ones with the festival theme ‘Past Present Future’, recreating some of the ultimate highlights from the last 20 years and introducing new ideas, new technologies and brilliant new artists to meet and admire. There will be fantastic entertainment, superb exhibitions, wonderful food and a chance to meet old and new friends. And we look forward to the future with the handover of the event to the Glass Arts Society. Keep an eye out for more information and come and join us in Stourbridge for the UK’s only glass festival.
