Glass for Good

Welcome to the 7th International Festival of Glass. Since its inception in 2004 the Festival’s aim has been to celebrate and showcase the skill and innovation of the glass industry and makers, both historic and contemporary, local and international.

We look forward to meeting you in Stourbridge this August bank holiday to celebrate one of the most fascinating and diverse art forms around. With open studios, demonstrations, presentations, performances, street theatre, storytelling, narrowboat rides and glass taster sessions, there with plenty of opportunities for you to get involved and have fun.

IFoG – Beginners Fused Glass Workshop – 26/08/2017

International Festival of Glass – Beginners Fused Glass Workshop on the 26th August 2017

As part of the International Festival of Glass, designer & maker Paul Floyd will lead afternoon sessions on glass fusing. Teaching the basics of fusing, cutting glass to a pattern and working with coloured sheet glass, frits and powders. You will create an original piece of glasswork and make your own fused glass light-catcher. Only 4 people per workshop for maximum individual attention.

  • Date: Saturday 26th August 2017
  • Time: 2pm till 4:30pm
  • Costs: £40 + £6.50 Festival Day Pass (includes all materials, fusing & postage of glasswork)

Intermediate/Advanced Glass Fusing Workshop on the 19th August 2017

Glass designer & maker Paul Floyd will lead afternoon sessions on glass fusing. The intermediate/advanced workshop will allow you to explore the techniques of fused glass as a creative medium.  Within the workshop you will build on your skills with cutting glass to a pattern and working with coloured sheet glass, frits and powders.

You will create an original piece of glasswork and can make either a panel or a medium-sized round/square bowl 20cm diameter.  Only 4 people per workshop for maximum individual attention.

  • Date: Saturday 19th August 2017
  • Time: 1:30pm till 5:30pm
  • Costs: £45 (includes all materials and fusing)
