International Festival of Glass 26th till 29th August 2022
The International Festival of Glass takes place every two years and is the only festival that celebrates glass in the UK.
The creative programme of activities combines the whole spectrum of glassmaking with other artforms to push boundaries and develop new opportunities, ideas and collaborations for makers, artists and performers. You can see high-quality exhibitions, international masterclasses, artist demonstrations and presentations with over 500 artists represented at each festival. There are plenty of workshops and hands-on activities to try yourself, plus lively entertainment and evening events.
Since its inception in 2004 the Festival’s aim has been to celebrate and showcase the skill and innovation of the glass industry and makers, both historic and contemporary, local and international.
The 2022 festival will explore contemporary glassmaking Korea, Japan, China and Taiwan. The Masterclass programme has a fantastic line up of superb artists, some passing on their skills for the first time. Our first major international exhibition, Expanding Horizons, will feature over 80 exquisite works by artists from East Asia, many showing for the first time in Europe/the UK.
Free entry to most Festival sites, great activities suitable for the whole family and a Free Festival Shuttle Bus.

We would like to start by thanking all our customers, clients, colleagues and friends for their continued support through these challenging times.
On a positive note, the Ruskin Glass Centre & Cafe has announced its full reopening on 8th September, with further measures in place to keep visitors, customers and staff safe.
We are also working towards the possibility of returning to run workshops & classes in the near future. The Studio has put in place a number of safety measures for visitors and this is being reviewed regularly and updated according to Government & Public Health England guidance.
In the meantime we are asking for expressions of interest from regulars and new, who would consider returning to attend workshops & classes. There will be a number of changes, which will include smaller groups (maximum 2) and strict hygiene measures in place.
It still stands that any unused ‘Gift Vouchers’ will have their ‘Valid to Date’ extended, so when safe to do so we can move forward and make bookings.
Thank you for your patience & understanding.
